My father experienced dementia after having a few strokes in his 80s . I took care of him for about 10 years until he passed away. I did get some help with his care for the last 2 years of his life. Then my husband and I took care of my mother for 3 years. A few years later we took care of a sweet lady in her home for about 18 months. I would like to continue this kind of work if possible in our new location in Arkansas.

Aging does not have to be looking forward to end of life. It can be a very happy time to enjoy life and pursue some unfulfilled quests due to previous obligations and commitments.

I am 75 years of age, a retired Professor of Management and I continue to provide manager development workshops and organisational consulting. I write a blog on mindfulness to keep my mind active (researching and writing), to remind me to be mindful each day and to learn new mindfulness practices. Some of my blog posts cover the challenges of aging (including those I have experienced, especially as I play social tennis on a weekly basis): My blog posts on aging: https://growmindfulness.com/?s=aging I have a close female relative suffering from Alzheimer's so I am reminded daily of its devastating impact on a person's quality of life.

Took care for my aging parents for 6 years and have navigated the health care and homecare systems -- as well as building support/friendship community and helping to create ease and comfort with them aging in place. They were married for 69 years and both lived to 92 -- passing away last year. An amazing chapter in all of our lives. Challenges wrapped in joy -- and sustaining memories. Would be happy to share my experience and the resources that helped me.

Hello everyone! My name is Rebekah and I live in central Georgia and work at a skilled-care nursing facility where the average age of our residents is 87 years old. I am currently in school and will graduate next year with a Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration and truly feel like the aging community is the area in which I want to spend the rest of my working career serving. The aging community can also pose a good deal of challenges that can be difficult to navigate so I would love to help you with any questions you may have. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about your loved one and I would be happy to help you in any way that I can. Rebekah K.

At 72, I’ve had a number of age related issues; a CSF leak that has been repaired, a cracked patella and am willing to chat about aging and my journey.
