Hello, I am Daniel G Garza, I came out in 1988 at the age of 17. Coming from a Latin, Catholic, and Conservative family it was not easy being open about my sexuality and identity. Although it was the hardest thing at the time I am proud of the man I have become. I will be sharing more of my story.

My brother came out to me 8 years ago. I was the first person he told. I love my brother and helped him feel comfortable being his genuine self. Through this experience I have become a fierce advocate of the LGBTQ+ community. Because of my personal experiences, I would be honored to offer my support to those needing guidance, a place to voice frustrations, or validation.

The LGBTQ+ Family Connections Center is a counseling, community, and resource center for LGBTQ+ Youth, Individuals and Seniors living in rural populations. Our mission is to strengthen and empower LGBTQ+ youth, individuals, and seniors to overcome obstacles by providing housing, supportive counseling, employment resources, community education, and advocacy serving the LGBTQ+ population in South Dakota, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Wyoming as a destination center, or virtual online assistance hub.

I founded gaynet/gaycom and brought more than 4 million of us together. I also had stores in San Francisco in the bulls-eye of the AIDS epidemic. Employees in my ten stores and I were all front-line workers for 14 years, caring for thousands of men dying before the cocktail was produced. I have been actively involved with the LGBTQ+ community for many years and can help anyone with questions or needs. Please feel free to reach out to me.
